Sesame, Lime & Tamari Dressing

by Kirsten Eats
Sesame, Lime & Tamari Dressing

Here is another in the jam jar dressing series; sesame, lime and tamari dressing. As with all jam jar dressings, it is simple to make. Throw the ingredients in a jam jar, shake your little heart out and serve on nearly everything.

Full of asian inspired flavours, the sesame, lime and tamari dressing naturally fits well with chilled noodle salads and brown rice creations. The punchy lime and savoury soy flavours can really lift a cos lettuce and chicken salad. Beef and udon noodle salads will have a taste explosion while still remaining virtuous. You could even throw it over sides at a roast dinner; toss it through steamed green beans or broccoli. Even drizzled on roast kumara or pumpkin. I adore it tossed through buckwheat soba noodles with grilled tofu and fresh vegetables for a light, tasty office lunch. Here, we’ve used it as a dipping sauce for fresh spring rolls.

Once you’ve made a jar, you will find plenty of reasons to ensure every last drop is used. If it’s not used up at once, it will last about a week in the fridge, just shake a little before you use it again. This dressing is versatile for nearly everyone, including those with food intolerances. Those who are gluten free should double check the labels to make sure the soy sauce is suitable.
